Unorganisers

Barcamp is run by volunteers; it's the participants that make it what it is; although a good Barcamp needs an instigator!
Barcamp Liverpool is being (un)organised by Katie Lips and Paul Stringer at Kisky Netmedia and Treasuremytext with help from friends and colleagues.

We're really happy to have the fabulous ICDC as our first event sponsors, who'll be helping with food, refreshments, tech and logistics. Oh and the fab logo design!

Why Barcamp Liverpool?

The first Barcamp I attended was in Amsterdam in 2005; the second? Barcamp ever I recall; it was at the height of '2.0 hype' - even the BBC reported it. Since then I've been hooked; attending Barcamps in The Netherlands, Germany, USA, and the UK. The unconference totally rocks; so much so we hopped right on the unconference bandwagon and created CocoaDevHouse Amsterdam, and several Mac Meetups (amongst other lovely geeky events). More recently, Paul Robinson has been busy developing the Barcamp movement in Manchester, and Imran Ali has nurtured the Barcamp community in Leeds! What with so many talented tech types in the city, Liverpool needs one of these we thought..... Help us to make it happen! -- Katie
